YSI is seeking a Database Administrator. Current need is for a Database Administrator 2 to assist with migrating existing databases from one hosted platform to a new hosted platform. Someone with knowledge of moving or migrating databases, as well as systems validation after migration. Considerable working background in Microsoft SQL database administration. Architecture and troubleshooting in a working environment. Database administration and backup/recovery management. Working knowledge of backing up and restoring production databases.
This role will fill day to daily break/fix incident response on our SQL environment. Our SQL environment runs in a SQL Max platform hardware solution, dedicated for SQL performance. The SQL version we are running range from 2008 – 2019. We also have a small Oracle footprint, some experience in Oracle is great, but the primary focus will be SQL. Other daily tasks may include utilizing updates, restoration, and recovery if or when required.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years managing and administering production databases.
- 5+ years troubleshooting databases and systems.
- 5+ years performing database backup, recovery, and monitoring.
- 5+ years collaborating with teams and communicating with customers.
- 5+ years managing database security, access, and permissions.
- 5+ years designing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining systems.
- 5+ years maintaining accurate project, workload, and process documentation.
Location: 900 E Broad St, Richmond VA 23219 (Onsite)
Status: Full-time, Contract
Salary: $95,000-$100,000 annually with benefits
