The Virginia Dept of Health (VDH) is seeking Cloud Data Engineer to join the development team and build modern, cloud-native applications across leading cloud platforms, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Azure.
Working within OIM (Office of Information Management) and under guidance from SEAT (Solutions Engineering and Architecture Team), the ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, cloud services, and a passion for designing scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. Additionally, they will explore emerging data technologies, stay updated with industry advancements, and document processes for knowledge sharing. The engineer will also support the Data Management team in all its data transmission tasks.
Required skills and experience
- Four years of experience in AWS, Azure, Azure App Service, Google Cloud, AKS, Functions, Storage, and Databases.
- Three years of experience in Docker, Kubernetes, C#, Java, Python, Go, Node.js, Azure DevOps, Gitlab, IAM, Data Protection, Cloud Security Best Practices, SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL Databases, Agile Methodologies, and DevOps Practices.
Location: 109 Governor Street, Richmond, VA 23219 (Onsite)
Salary: $95-100k/A with benefits
