The State Compensation Board (SCB) is seeking a skilled C# developer to design, develop, and maintain .NET applications supporting our business operations. In this role, the candidate will write and manage C# code for both ongoing and future projects, participate in design and planning sessions, and help define effective approaches to current development tasks.
The ideal candidate will have experience building high-quality applications using C#, Angular, and SQL Server, particularly within large, menu-driven business systems such as claims processing, payroll, medical, or insurance platforms. They should be proficient in handling data across application screens, managing large datasets, processing transactional operations (add/update/delete), and developing new screens and reports. Strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of the .NET framework are essential.
Job responsibilities
- Developing C# .NET solutions for the organization.
- Creating in-house applications using the.NET framework.
- Debugging and maintaining written code (no API's).
- Defining and organizing projects on an ongoing basis.
- Reporting and resolving issues related to .NET projects.
- Identifying and handling technical risks and issues.
- Working in a project team alongside other developers.
- Providing technical support to stakeholders in the organization.
- Reporting on project statuses and developments to senior team members.
- Participating in project meetings with management and other team members.
Required Skills & Experience
- C#, .NET 3.1 (or higher)
- Angular (gRPC would be a plus)
- SQL Server
- Visual Studio/Visual Studio Code
- Knowledge of building and deployment repositories such as Azure Dev Ops or Git Hub.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a C# programmer or developer.
- Knowledge of other coding-languages (COBOL, PHP, C+, Java, Python, Coldfusion, etc.) would be a plus.
- Ability to write clean, easy to understand code.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience with ColdFusion would be nice to have but not necessary.
- Sound understanding of coding and development processes.
- Experience with working in an agile environment.
