The Virginia Dept of Health (VDH) is seeking a Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage Oracle OCI environments, including database, middleware, and infrastructure components
- Develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications and ORDS services
- Configure and administer Oracle WebLogic Server and related technologies
- Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and conversions
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and replication strategies using RMAN and other tools
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection
- Monitor and optimize database performance, implementing tuning recommendations
- Implement and automate routine tasks using shell scripting and tools like Ansible
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure seamless application deployment
- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues, providing timely support
- Document and train on best practices for Oracle OCI environment management
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience administering Oracle Database 19c (and above), including database installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, and overall database management in enterprise environments.
- 10+ years of experience with Oracle Database Backup/Recovery, including RMAN, Oracle Data Guard, disaster recovery planning, high availability, and database migrations from Solaris to Linux (Oracle 11g/12c).
- 10+ years of experience providing 24x7 production support and on-call support for mission-critical Oracle database environments, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
- 7+ years of experience administering Oracle Enterprise Manager (Grid Control) 13c, including monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and enterprise database administration.
- 7+ years of experience with Oracle WebLogic 12c and Oracle Fusion Middleware administration; 5+ years of experience supporting and administering Oracle APEX environments.
- Desired: 3+ years of experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Microsoft Azure administration; Highly Desired: 5+ years of experience administering Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and IIS environments
Location: 109 Governor St. Richmond, VA 23219 (Hybrid)
$95,000-100,000 annually with benefits
